Dr. Hamilton has been practicing family medicine for 13 years and is currently directing 6 clinics, with an average of 200,000 yearly patients pre-covid, here is what he has to say about how Covid-19 has impacted the medical industry as a whole.

Dr. Hamilton found that resources became more covid centric and the overall way in which care is provided has been dramatically impacted by this pandemic. From a clinic perspective, a lot of preventive care is done where they bring patients in to do an assortment of medical screenings but amid the COVID-19 pandemic, some of those screenings needed to be put on hold as they analyze the situations of each patient to better understand whether they are in need of acute care or if they are able to delay those medical screenings as much as they can in a safe manner. From a hospital perspective, Dr. Hamilton expands on how non-emergent surgeries are also being pushed back due to lack of ICU space and medical supplies. Although things have gotten better compared to when this pandemic initially started there is still a great impact on the quality of care that is provided to patients.
